Katherine Crites Lewis M.Ed ATP
Katherine Crites Lewis is a special educator who has worked in the field of Assistive Technology and Augmentative Communication for the past 16 years. She holds a Masters in Special Education with a concentration in Assistive Technology from the University of Louisville and an Assistive Technology Professional certification from RESNA.
She has extensive experience in the field of AT and provides AAC/AT consultation, training, and evaluation services to various schools, hospitals and vocational programs in Hawaii and American Samoa. Katherine has worked extensively with individuals who use assistive technology and very closely with their families and support teams.
Katherine has taught Assistive Technology Certification classes in American Samoa and been an instructor for the Hawaii DOE Television AT course AT the Forefront.
She teaches a wide variety of AT/AAC workshops locally for a variety of agencies in Hawaii throughout the islands.
Several Department of Education facilities have contracted her to develop their AT loan banks and she have helped them establish loan policies and procedures.
She has authored the Short Stacks series of books for children who use AAC devices and are emergent readers.

 Craig LewisCraig has been working with individuals with disabilities for the
past 9 years. During that time, he has been involved in assessing, placing, implementing and training assistive
technology with clients. His clients have been referred by the University of Hawaii - Center on Disability Studies, Veteran's Administration, CAPS (Wounded Warriors), Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. He also consults with individuals and businesses to determine adaptations
that are needed in workplace settings.
Craig has also assisted Katherine in her work in American Samoa, specializing in creating and presenting the multimedia aspect of the Assistive Technology Certification course curriculum. He also assisted in cataloging and organizing the loan bank established there.
Craig also co-authored the Short Stacks series of books for children who use AAC devices and are emergent readers.
Craig’s
focus areas in assistive technology include computer access, and
technologies that assist those with cognitive and learning
disabilities.
